Team Building and Communication in the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island
Team Building and Communication
Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island
All employees in the four offices met for a full day at a beautiful vineyard and event space in Little Compton, Rhode Island to practice team building and communication through improvisation.[1] The exercises were led by CSZ Portland[2], which is a company that uses the art of improvisation to train leaders, build teams, and foster inclusion and belonging.
Â
Employees performed a series of improvisational exercises to train listening skills, foster positive team dynamics, and adapt to change. Because the exercises were not directly related to daily work, team members experienced their colleagues outside the office space and learned how they thought, felt, and responded to a broader spectrum of situations, which deepened understanding of each other and increased connection. The importance of listening to and responding to one another became apparent immediately.

There was also amazing food, and a soft ocean breeze!   Â
